Well, to make a long story short... On Friday I was making desert for last night's Sunday dinner. I had made a 6 layer chocolate cake from scratch, with strawberry and fudge fillings.
I had the cake filled and mostly iced, I turned around for few seconds to get something from the fridge. And it was like in slow motion, the cake had split in half and the filling oozed out!... [Too much weight for a sponge cake] I pushed the cake back on the counter before it fell to the floor, and stepped back in shock, called dad over to help me “fix” it, and I just started laughing. I mean what else can you do in this sort of situation? LOL He gave me a hug and told me that it still tasted really good, and helped me get it into a bowl.
I had Psalms playing in the background [Thank you Orlogos!] and just started singing with all my might, God is Good! And He was perfectly in control of my fallen cake “disaster”. And in light of eternity what's a ruined cake? And me having a bad attitude and being angry at the world would only make things worse. Praise be the Lord! We can rejoice in all circumstances, and laugh at ourselves, and have fun in the process.
Well needless to say the cake was destroyed, but Praise God it was still all on the counter and the dog didn't eat all that chocolate. I was able to finish smashing/mixing the cake and icing/filling together, put it in a foil pan, and made a dirt cake with crushed cookies, gummy worms, and chocolate covered strawberries that looked like carrots on top. Which the little kids enjoyed far more than a fancy cake. Also it was way easier to dish out. And we had an awesome time of fellowship last night and it didn't matter if there was a cake or a smashed one.
I hope this brightened someone's day. But in all seriousness remember, dear brothers and sisters, whatever circumstance we are in, God is good! And He is in complete and perfect control all the time. And everything that happens to us is a gift from God, though it may not seem that way at the time. And we have a peace that passes all understanding in Christ Jesus, our blessed Lord and Savior.
So whatever your struggles are today, pray and give them to God, cast them into His hands. And look up! Jesus is reigning and everything is in His control. And rejoice in the Great Salvation which has be given to us. Sing a Psalm/hymn and Praise God for His goodness, trusting that He will bring us safely home to Glory, and NOTHING can separate us from His Love! And “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 5:1-5
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for the laughs and the perspective Miss Delanie! 😀
What an awesome testimony. Thank you so much for sharing your cake adventure and how everything turned out for good . Our God is so amazing and good to us as you said He is in control. This helps me remember that these things here are temporary and that what we don't see is eternal. I am struggling myself with trials some of which I brought on myself but even in that our Yeshua is faithful and merciful. May you be blessed and thank you for this blessing that God has given through you sister.
Love In Christ
