On Sunday I'm making my grandmother and mother dinner for mother's day. Mom's getting a dinner tonight. And my grandmother wants fried chicken etc. So we're going to pick that up Sunday afternoon, but for dessert she left it up to me... But she wants a fruity dessert and she does not like cheese cake. [at all]
So I need help deciding, I have the stuff to make either an orange cream sickle cake, or a strawberry cake.
Which do you think?
Thank you in advance đ
Yours in Christ,

1 Corinthians 10:31
"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Thank you all. She really liked it, but said, "It is enough sugar to last me for a month!" lol And I had enough cake left over to bless my other grandparents and my cousin with. đ¤
I am sure she loved it! Sounds delicious!
Thank you so much for the ideas! I love the fluff idea and I might make that for the next potluck at church. And my grandmother usually chooses "death by chocolate" deserts lol, but surprised me, when I asked her what she wanted.
I had my dad decide on Friday, when he woke up, and he picked the orange cream sickle. Which worked out, because I did not realize when I couldn't decide that the straw berries were bad...
The cake turned out nice and I filled it with white chocolate ganache. I melted a package of orange jello into the heavy cream that went into the buttercream, and that gave it a nice flavor and color. With the remaining ganache, made a drip cake. Looks very pretty. And going to top it with whipped cream and orange slices.
Thank you so much for your ideas. đ
Awwwh so sweet! My mother in law always liked fried chicken for mothers day. Her dessert choice was always chocolate. However, her next favorite was anything with strawberries because it went well with chocolate đ
I like Jenâs idea of the FLUFF dessert. It shows up at and enjoyed by many at potlucks. No matter what you make she will love it!
we love a couple of things...
One is FLUFF (you can do pineapple fluff salad or strawberry fluff salad, etc) just google it.
Best part, you can make it ahead and its better that way. marshamallows, etc. You can easily change out the fruit you want.
Our other favorite is Strawberries and banana's just in their own juice diced up. My mom always made it for family gatherings because all the granddaughters (now adults and still love it) always wanted Nana's Dessert.
